Tim Burton's inspirations and work will be featured in a special retrospective hosted by New York's Museum of Modern Art starting November 22, 2009 and running through April 26, 2010.
According to the MOMA press release, the exhibit will explore the filmmaker's influences and development from childhood through current day with an extensive collection of never-before-seen or rarely seen artwork, figures, photos and film, including many items from Burton's personal collection. Specific items to be displayed include the original The Nightmare Before Christmas puppets; costumes from Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns and Sleepy Hollow and graphic art for the Tim Burton's Tragic Toys for Girls and Boys collectible figure series.
All 14 of Burton's feature films and two of his early short films will be screened over the course of the exhibition's run at the MOMA. [The Museum of Modern Art]
