- Noel Gallagher posted the following message on OasisNet: "It's with some sadness and great relief to tell you that I quit Oasis tonight. People will write and say what they like, but I simply could not go on working with Liam a day longer. Apologies to all the people who bought tickets for the shows in Paris, Konstanz and Milan." Music Notes: Bono and the Edge talk Spidey, Kanye and Gaga to tour together

- U2's Bono and the Edge talk about their interest in their Spider-man musical project here. [Rolling Stone]

- Kanye West and Lady Gaga plan on going on a co-headlining tour together. [MTV News]

- It looks like The Roots will release their next album this summer. No specific dates yet, but the band has also apparently filmed a video for their first single already. [Prefix Mag]

Music Notes: Radiohead open digital download shop, Le Tigre + Christina Aguilera = team?

Sorry for the late Music Notes today, everyone! I've been under the weather and finally feel a little up to blogging. If there are any further delays this week, you now know what to blame.

- Radiohead's merchandise folks over at w.a.s.t.e have unveiled a new digital download section in the band's online store. In Rainbows Disc 2, which featured songs only released with the limited edition discbox sets that fans were able to order back in October 2007, is also available for digital download. - Interesting pairing alert! Le Tigre might be joining Christina Aguilera in the studio while the latter works on recording her new album. So no, Le Tigre haven't broken up. [SPIN]

- The new Arctic Monkeys album will be titled Humbug. Bah. [NME]

- Every single Oasis album is set for a vinyl rerelease later this year. A b-sides collection will also be reissued in this format. [NME]

Music Notes: Noel Gallagher promises refund, The Pretenders announce tour dates

- Noel Gallagher promised 70,000 Oasis fans their money back after power cuts plagued their show in Manchester last night. It was the first time the band had performed in Manchester in four years. After tech issues stalled the show for half an hour, Gallagher told the audience, "Thank you very very much, this is a free gig - let's have it. Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund." [BBC]

- The Pretenders have announced details of their upcoming North American tour, which will kick off on August 4. Cat Power and Juliette Lewis will also join the band for select dates. More details here. [NME]

- Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 will be out on September 11, eight years after the original Blueprint came out. [MTV]

- August 18 will see the release of the Woodstock - 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur's Farm box set. The six-CD, 77 song set will feature 38 unreleased recordings from the original Woodstock festival. Performances by The Who, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Joan Baez and more. Research has allowed the compilers to put the songs and artists in the correct order of performance. - Coldplay might follow up last year's Viva La Vida with a concept record. That could be bad. Straight from Chris Martin's mouth. [SPIN]

Music Notes: Frontmen go solo, wedding bells a-coming

- Interpol frontman Paul Banks will be releasing a solo album, Skyscraper, on August 4. Banks will be releasing the album under the name Julian Plenti. This isn't the end of Interpol — the band is apparently rehearsing material for their next album. [NME]

- Banks isn't alone in going solo. Snow Patrol singer Gary Lightbody has plans to release two albums: Listen Tank and a country music LP titled Tired Pony. [SPIN]

- Wedding bells are just around the corner for Trent Reznor and Meg White (but they're not marrying each other!) Reznor will be marrying girlfriend Mariqueen Maandig, singer for West Indian Girl. White will be marrying Jackson Smith, the son of Patti Smith and Fred (Sonic) Smith. Mazel tov to all! [SPIN]

- Liam Gallagher has responded to brother Noel's troubling MySpace message about Oasis' tour by saying the tour is "amazing." Another day in the life of the Gallaghers. [NME]

Music Notes: Fleet Foxes presale, Oasis warring... as usual

- The Fleet Foxes are planning to embark on a mini-North American tour, and a presale for select dates will be held this Wednesday, May 6 (starting at 10 a.m. "local time" according to the band's MySpace). - Cat Stevens (aka Yusuf Islam) claims that Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" is actually a rip-off of his 1973 song, "Foreigner Suite." But it doesn't seem like he has any plans to take any legal action against them. [NME]

- Noel Gallagher has recently been quoted by numerous music publications, stating that Oasis probably won't make another record until five years from now, and complaining about his brother and bandmate Liam. Well now, he's openly blogging about the band's problems. Today's entry said the following: "We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there's a fuckin' shit-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course. Strange atmosphere. I wouldn't mind but we're in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there's a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really." [Oasis MySpace]

- Just days ago though, Liam Gallagher said Noel's claims about a five-year break weren't part of his plan. He put out the following message via Twitter: "It won't be a 5 year break if I've got anything to do with it, thanks for the support." Interesting times, huh? [Q]

- R.E.M. plans to reissue their second album, 1984's Reckoning in June. The band will release a 25th anniversary deluxe two-disc edition of the album. 180-gram vinyl reissues of Reckoning and the band's debut album Murmur will also be released. [Pitchfork]

- Apple has rejected a Nine Inch Nails application for the iPhone, citing that objectionable content is involved. Trent Reznor is not a happy camper. [Pitchfork]

- And joining the recent crop of resurfacing bands, Sugar Ray will be back with Music For Cougars on July 21. [Billboard]
