- Michael Jackson was finally buried last night. The King of Pop was entombed in a mausoleum at Glendale, California's Forest Lawn Cemetery. Celebrities in attendance included Macaulay Culkin, Lisa Marie Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, Berry Gordy, and Quincy Jones. [Rolling Stone]

Music Notes: All Points West highlights, RHCP to end hiatus in October

I have Internet off and on right now... so even though I didn't do a new music post, here's a round-up for the day:

- SPIN has this photo gallery capturing moments from this past weekend's All Points West festival, which was held for the second year in a row at New Jersey's Liberty State Park. [SPIN]

- The Red Hot Chili Peppers plan on ending a two-year hiatus by getting started on new material this October. Drummer Chad Smith told Billboard, "It'll be two years in September, so now we're ready. Music Notes: Noel Gallagher promises refund, The Pretenders announce tour dates

- Noel Gallagher promised 70,000 Oasis fans their money back after power cuts plagued their show in Manchester last night. It was the first time the band had performed in Manchester in four years. After tech issues stalled the show for half an hour, Gallagher told the audience, "Thank you very very much, this is a free gig - let's have it. Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund." [BBC]

- The Pretenders have announced details of their upcoming North American tour, which will kick off on August 4. Cat Power and Juliette Lewis will also join the band for select dates. More details here. [NME]

- Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 will be out on September 11, eight years after the original Blueprint came out. [MTV]

- August 18 will see the release of the Woodstock - 40 Years On: Back to Yasgur's Farm box set. The six-CD, 77 song set will feature 38 unreleased recordings from the original Woodstock festival. Performances by The Who, Grateful Dead, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Joan Baez and more. Research has allowed the compilers to put the songs and artists in the correct order of performance. Music Notes: Wilco album streaming, Gahan recovering from stomach flu

- Wilco's new album is streaming in its entirety on their website. Listeners can listen to the stream in low or high quality. [WilcoWorld.net]

- Following up on yesterday's news about David Gahan: the singer is indeed suffering from a severe bout of stomach flu. As a result, Depeche Mode have canceled gigs in Athens, Greece and Istanbul. Both shows will be rescheduled soon, and fans are being told to hold on to their tickets. [SPIN]

- Even though the album won't be released until Friday, Green Day's latest is probably well on its way to being at the top of the Billboard charts next week. [Billboard]

- First Howling Bells, now Elbow - the latter will be joining Coldplay as an opening act during several North American tour dates this summer. The band will also play some solo dates, and will kick things off with a July 22 show in Los Angeles. [NME]

- Weezer will apparently tour with Blink 182 and Fall Out Boy. [Pitchfork]

- And even though you've all probably heard by now, I will end with this item because I'm endlessly entertained by Kanye West's blog. The rapper just went on a tirade against Twitter on his blog, ending with the following: "HEY TWITTER, TAKE THE SO CALLED KANYE WEST TWITTER DOWN NOW .... WHY? ... Music Notes: Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs to open for Green Day, new Regina Spektor track

- Franz Ferdinand and Kaiser Chiefs will take their turns opening for Green Day in North America this summer. Neat! [Pitchfork]

- Stream "Laughing With," a new track by Regina Spektor on her MySpace. The track will be featured on her upcoming album Far, due out on June 23. [Regina Spektor MySpace]

- Graham Coxon will release limited-edition art prints to coincide with the release of his new single "Sorrow's Army" on May 18. The prints, designed by Coxon, will be available at Transgressiverecords.co.uk and select indie record stores. Each print will come with a code allowing fans to download the single. [NME]

- The White Stripes are recording songs for a new album, which they could release as early as sometime next year. [SPIN]

- Coldplay drummer Will Champion has defended the band against Yusuf's (Cat Stevens) claim that the band's "Viva La Vida" plagiarizes his work. [Rolling Stone]

- The Stone Roses' 1989 self-titled debut album will be reissued on August 11 in three different packages. [Pitchfork]

Music Notes: Fleet Foxes presale, Oasis warring... as usual

- The Fleet Foxes are planning to embark on a mini-North American tour, and a presale for select dates will be held this Wednesday, May 6 (starting at 10 a.m. "local time" according to the band's MySpace). - Cat Stevens (aka Yusuf Islam) claims that Coldplay's "Viva La Vida" is actually a rip-off of his 1973 song, "Foreigner Suite." But it doesn't seem like he has any plans to take any legal action against them. [NME]

- Noel Gallagher has recently been quoted by numerous music publications, stating that Oasis probably won't make another record until five years from now, and complaining about his brother and bandmate Liam. Well now, he's openly blogging about the band's problems. Today's entry said the following: "We speak at bad times for the Oasis tour. Bad times. We are a rudderless ship at the minute. And there's a fuckin' shit-storm on the horizon. I guess all will be revealed in due course. Strange atmosphere. I wouldn't mind but we're in South America! Playing massive stadiums and there's a bit too much hrmph-ing going on for my liking. Shame really." [Oasis MySpace]

- Just days ago though, Liam Gallagher said Noel's claims about a five-year break weren't part of his plan. He put out the following message via Twitter: "It won't be a 5 year break if I've got anything to do with it, thanks for the support." Interesting times, huh? [Q]

- R.E.M. plans to reissue their second album, 1984's Reckoning in June. The band will release a 25th anniversary deluxe two-disc edition of the album. 180-gram vinyl reissues of Reckoning and the band's debut album Murmur will also be released. [Pitchfork]

- Apple has rejected a Nine Inch Nails application for the iPhone, citing that objectionable content is involved. Trent Reznor is not a happy camper. [Pitchfork]

Music Notes: Coldplay to give away free live album, Pearl Jam to tour overseas

- Coldplay will be giving away a free live CD, LeftRightLeftRight, at all their remaining live shows in 2009 (excluding festival appearances). This will start with the band's May 15 show in West Palm Beach, Florida. The band also intends to make the CD available as a free download via their website starting May 15. You have to admit, it's pretty nice of them. [Coldplay.com]

- Australian singer Sia (also known for her work with Zero 7) will be releasing her first DVD and a live EP in the near future. TV is My Parent, the DVD, will feature live concert footage from New York's Hiro Ballroom, four music videos, and behind the scenes footage. The DVD is set for release on May 19. The Live From Sidney EP will feature seven live tracks. It will be released digitally on May 5. [NME, Amazon.com]

- Pearl Jam have announced a small European summer tour. [Paste Magazine]

- So in slightly weird/potentially horrifying news, the Kanye West/Jared Leto collaboration is real. Kanye collaborated with Leto's band 30 Seconds to Mars on a track titled "Hurricane." The track is supposed to appear on the band's next album. [Pitchfork]

- Sad news: Seven-months-pregnant Kelis has filed for divorce from husband Nas, citing "irreconcilable differences." [E! Online]
