Music Notes: Radiohead release free track, Aerosmith cancel tour

So as I posted late last week, I'm planning on making Music Notes a three-times-a-week thing on this blog now that I have a nutty schedule. I'm hoping I'll be able to stick with it, and I'll keep you all posted.

- Radiohead guitarist Jonny Greenwood confirmed that the band will debut new material at the Reading and Leeds Festivals later this month. He also linked to a free download of a new track, "These Are My Twisted Words." [NME]

- Aerosmith have canceled the remainder of their summer tour. [Brooklyn Vegan]

- Michael Jackson will be buried on Aug. 29, the date that would have marked his 51st birthday. [NME]

- Iggy Pop contributed vocals to a new version of "Oh My God," a track on Ida Maria's Fortress Round My Heart. This new version of the song hits radio this week, and will be available on iTunes starting Aug. 31. Listen to the collaboration here. [SPIN]

- Check out the premiere of Smokey Robinson's "Don't Know Why" here. [Billboard]

- Christina Aguilera is continuing to work with some very interesting collaborators for her next album: M.I.A., Santigold and Ladytron are on the list. [SPIN]

Music Notes: Air announce new album, new Blur material is possible

- Air will release their next album Love 2, the follow-up to 2007's Pocket Symphony, on Oct. 6. The band plans to go on the road in 2010. [NME]

- Things are slowly moving ahead for Blur — in addition to prepping for their upcoming headlining shows, the band members are already jamming together and toying with new sounds. However, as guitarist Graham Coxon pointed out, the band won't be playing complete new songs just yet. "We wouldn't want to just sling stuff together to play this summer [at gigs including shows in Manchester and London's Hyde Park]. It wouldn’t be right. We really don't want to put ourselves under any pressure. I think we want to have fun with these gigs and then we'll think about that really," he said. [NME]

- Clear Channel Radio and Front Line Management have collaborated on a project called "artist personal experience" (a.p.e.), allowing artists to produce their own 24-hour online radio stations. Weezer, the Eagles and Christina Aguilera are supposed to kick off their own stations next month. All songs will be chosen by the artists, and there will be moments where their own music will be played alongside exclusive interviews and commentary. Stations will be available through Clear Channel websites, artists' widgets, and the iPhone and Blackberry's iheartradio app. [Paste Magazine]

- Courtney Love is reviving Hole. Sort of. [SPIN]

- In sad news, a dead body was found on Bonnaroo festival grounds Tuesday. Workers found the body of an unidentified white man in his 20s. The body was found in a tent. Police believe he may have been from Alabama. An autopsy is underway. [Pitchfork]

Music Notes: Radiohead open digital download shop, Le Tigre + Christina Aguilera = team?

Sorry for the late Music Notes today, everyone! I've been under the weather and finally feel a little up to blogging. If there are any further delays this week, you now know what to blame.

- Radiohead's merchandise folks over at w.a.s.t.e have unveiled a new digital download section in the band's online store. In Rainbows Disc 2, which featured songs only released with the limited edition discbox sets that fans were able to order back in October 2007, is also available for digital download. [Dead Air Space]

- Interesting pairing alert! Le Tigre might be joining Christina Aguilera in the studio while the latter works on recording her new album. So no, Le Tigre haven't broken up. [SPIN]

- The new Arctic Monkeys album will be titled Humbug. Bah. [NME]

- Every single Oasis album is set for a vinyl rerelease later this year. A b-sides collection will also be reissued in this format. [NME]

- Have the Smashing Pumpkins chosen a 19-year-old drummer? [Paste Magazine]
