Since Kelly Clarkson said in her blog entry just about everything that needs to be said about Kanye West's behavior at last night's VMA Awards and my eyes are going to get stuck in the back of my head if I roll them anymore while wasting a thought on Lady Gaga's antics (Madonna did it all first and did it much, much better, says this child of the '80s), we're not going to go there.  Instead take a look at the new trailer for the upcoming This Is It Michael Jackson documentary and the extended trailer for The Twilight Saga: New Moon, both of which debuted on last night's show.  There's a short commercial that runs ahead of both clips -- sorry about that!

- Jay-Z has announced some fall tour dates. He'll be playing some gigs in the UK with Coldplay. [Pitchfork]

- Michael Jackson was finally buried last night. The King of Pop was entombed in a mausoleum at Glendale, California's Forest Lawn Cemetery. Celebrities in attendance included Macaulay Culkin, Lisa Marie Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, Berry Gordy, and Quincy Jones. [Rolling Stone]

Michael Jackson Cause of Death Revealed

An affidavit that was filed last month in Houston as part of a search warrant application has been unsealed and reveals what has long been suspected—Michael Jackson's "cause of death was due to lethal levels of Propofol (Diprivan)."

The 32-page document includes details such as the amount of the anesthetic that was usually administered to the singer by Dr. Conrad Murray.  It also details the seven doses of four different drugs that Murray has acknowledged administering to Jackson on the morning of his death, a series that began and ended with Propofol.

In addition, the affidavit says:

A search of the residence, specifically Jackson's bedside, revealed numerous bottles of medications prescribed by Dr. Murray to Jackson, including Diazepam (Valium), Tamsulosin (Flomax), Lorazepam (Ativan) and Temazepam (Restoril). Prescription pill bottles of Clonazepam (Klonopin) and Trazodone (Desyrl), prescribed to Jackson by Dr. Metzger and a prescription bottle of Tizanidine (Zanaflex), prescribed to Jackson by Dr. Klein were also found at Jackson's bedside. According to the Physician's Desk Reference (PDR), most of these drugs have an indicated or off label use in the treatment of insomnia.

Release Date for Michael Jackson "This Is It" Film Announced

Sony has announced that Michael Jackson: This Is It will be released into theaters on October 28 for a limited two-week worldwide engagement. The film is cut together from footage shot prior to Jackson's June 25 death as he rehearsed in Los Angeles for a series of 50 sold-out shows at London's O2 Arena. Tickets go on sale beginning September 27.

Jackson Brothers Get a Reality Series on A&E

Well before Michael Jackson's death, A&E had shot a reality series pilot centering on the Jackson brothers and a reunion with Michael that never materialized.  Now it's being reported that A&E has greenlit additional episodes showing the remaining brothers dealing with the aftermath of the superstar's death and the brother's personal lives. Music Notes: Beatles Rock Band songs confirmed, Karen O helms film soundtrack

- More songs have been announced for The Beatles Rock Band and you can see the game's tracklisting here. [NME]

- The soundtrack for Where The Wild Things Are will come out Sept. 29. It's credited to Yeah Yeah Yeahs frontwoman Karen O and the Kids, the name she gave her collaborators. The movie itself hits theaters in October. [Pitchfork]

Music Notes: Pixies announce US tour dates, PJ Harvey debuts new songs at solo gig

- The Pixies have announced their US Doolittle tour dates, which will take place during the month of November. The tour will kick off in Los Angeles before heading to cities like Seattle and Chicago. There will be a three-night run in New York City before the last two dates in Boston and Washington, DC. [Brooklyn Vegan]

- PJ Harvey unveiled new songs at her only solo UK gig of the year. Watch video of two tracks, "The Last Living Rose" and "Let England Shake,"here. [NME]

- Federal authorities raided the home of Dr. Conrad Murray — Michael Jackson's doctor — today seeking documents as part of a manslaughter investigation into the singer's death. They did not have an arrest warrant for Murray, who did happen to be at home when they arrived. There are no official details on what the warrants specified. [Billboard]

Music Notes: Police investigate MJ's doctor, Leonard Cohen adds more US tour dates

- Police and federal agents searched the Houston clinic belonging to Michael Jackson's doctor today, looking for evidence of manslaughter. It looks like agents left with a forensic image of a hard drive along with 21 documents. [Associated Press via Yahoo! News]

- Leonard Cohen has announced more US tour dates for October and November. This year has marked the first proper Leonard Cohen US tour in 15 years. [SPIN]

Music Notes: Yeah Yeah Yeahs replace Beastie Boys at Lolla, Jackson documentary details

- The Yeah Yeah Yeahs will replace the Beastie Boys at Lollapalooza following Adam Yauch's cancer announcement. [Rolling Stone]

- Sony Pictures is in final negotiations to make a film out of rehearsal footage from Michael Jackson's "This Is It" tour. The price is $60 million, the planned release date is Oct. 30. It looks like 90 percent of the money will go to the Jackson estate, while the remaining 10 percent will go to AEG Live — the group behind Jackson's London tour dates. Music Notes: Alec Ounsworth goes solo, Thom Yorke covers Miracle Legion

- Everyone's going solo! Clap Your Hands Say Yeah frontman Alec Ounsworth will release his first solo album, Mo Beauty, Oct. 20. Though his band is not breaking up, they're also up to "nothing for now." [SPIN]

The track will open Ciao My Morning Star: The Songs of Mark Mulcahy, a tribute compilation aiming to raise money for Mark Mulcahy (of Miracle Legion). Music Notes Pearl Jam announce tour dates, MJ merch on sale

- Pearl Jam have announced their North American tour dates. Dates begin in August and last through October. The band will be releasing their ninth studio album, Backspacer, Sept. 20. [SPIN]

- Merchandise from Michael Jackson's now-canceled This Is It tour is up for sale. Fans can purchase official belt buckles, hats, wallets, music and t-shirts from this website. [NME]

- The Swell Season, best known for their work and music in the film Once, will release a new album Sept. 29. The album is titled The Strict Joy. [SPIN]

- Maxwell's new album BLACKsummers'night, which also happens to be his first in eight years, is headed for a big debut on next week's Billboard charts. Music Notes: Memorial service pays tribute to the King of Pop, NIN's final tour dates

- Michael Jackson's public memorial was held today at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where 20,000 people were gathered inside. TV stations and websites aired the service, which was watched all over the world. Performers — including Mariah Carey, Usher, John Mayer, and more — paid tribute by performing some of Jackson's most memorable hits. Friends and family members shared poignant and funny anecdotes about their times with the King of Pop. As the service drew to an end, Jackson's daughter Paris Michael-Jackson, spoke during one of the service's more heart-wrenching moments. "I just want to say ever since I was born, Daddy has been the best father you can ever imagine. And I just wanted to say I love him so much," she said, while crying. [Associated Press via Yahoo!]

- Despite saying that Bonnaroo would mark the end of live Nine Inch Nails performances in the US, it looks like NIN will play some more "intimate" shows in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago in late August. [SPIN]

Music Notes: Panic at the Disco split, Katherine Jackson will not oversee MJ's estate

- Panic at the Disco will be losing two members — guitarist Ryan Rothman and bassist Jon Walker are leaving to pursue their own project together. Remaining members Brendon Urie and Spencer Smith plan to continue under the band name, and will play their 12 tour dates as openers for Blink 182 later this summer. [SPIN]

- A judge has ruled that Katherine Jackson will not oversee her son Michael Jackson's estate. Attorney John Branca and music executive and friend John McClain will take over. The two of them will be in charge of the estate until Aug. 3, when another hearing is supposed to take place. [NME]

- Fiona Apple will release her first "new" tracks in three years by contributing two new recordings to The Best Is Yet To Come, a compilation that is meant to honor Cy Coleman. Music Notes: Blur play sold-out Hyde Park gig, Jackson's rehearsal footage released

- Blur played the first of two gigs at London's Hyde Park tonight, performing for a sold-out crowd of 55,000 fans. The band will play Hyde Park again tomorrow night. While fans can order copies of the gigs, they can also catch a broadcast of the show on Absolute Radio 5 p.m. London time this Sunday. - Michael Jackson's public memorial will be held 10 a.m., July 7 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles. If the stadium's 20,000-seat capacity is reached, the rest of the crowd will be able to watch the memorial on large screens at Nokia Palace, which is in the center's vicinity. Music Notes: Jackson will gets filed, no viewing at Neverland

- Michael Jackson's will was officially filed with a Los Angeles court today, leaving a family trust designed to benefit his three children, his mother Katherine Jackson and unnamed charities. Katherine Jackson is also nominated to be the guardian of the three children. However, if she is unwilling to take over the role, Jackson's will nominates Diana Ross as the next candidate. The document specifically pointed out that Jackson had purposely omitted his former wife, Debbie Rowe, from the will. [Billboard]

- According to reports, the Jackson family has been unable to receive permission to hold a public or private viewing for the singer at Neverland this weekend. Alternate plans seem to be underway. [NME, CNN]

Music Notes: Jackson's will and rehearsal pictures turn up, Vibe folds

- Even though his parents have said they believe Michael Jackson died without a valid will, multiple reports are confirming that a will (from 2002) does exist. Meanwhile, Jackson's body will be transported to Neverland Ranch for a public viewing on Friday. A private service is planned for Sunday, while the question of where Jackson will finally be buried is yet to be answered. [CNN, Associated Press via Yahoo]

Music Notes: Many Michael Jackson updates, Blur triumph at Glastonbury

- Michael Jackson's final tour rehearsals could see the light of day in a CD/DVD release. The last rehearsal held before the icon's death was filmed in HD video and multi-track audio. [MTV]

- AEG Live, the organization promoting Jackson's now-canceled 50 gigs at London's O2 Arena, has announced that fans who purchased tickets through authorized agents will receive full refunds. These refunds include service fee charges. President/CEO Randy Phillips said the following in a statement: "The world lost a kind soul who just happened to be the greatest entertainer the world has ever known. Since he loved his fans in life, it is incumbent upon us to treat them with the same reverence and respect after his death." [Billboard]

- Jackson was remembered during a heavily revamped BET Awards last night, where an emotional Janet Jackson took the stage and told the audience, "To you, Michael is an icon, to us, Michael is family. - As of right now, Katherine Jackson — Michael and Janet's mother — has been granted temporary guardianship of his three children. An Aug. 3 hearing is set to determine whether or not she can become the children's permanent guardian. She has not been granted permission to become administrator of the children's estates. [NME]

- Despite some "interesting" reports that were coming out earlier, it looks like Debbie Rowe, the biological mother of Jackson's two eldest children, hasn't really been in touch with anyone. Though her lawyer released a statement on her behalf this weekend, Rowe's whereabouts were listed as "unknown" on court documents. [BBC]

- In some happier music news, Blur played their first major gig last night at UK's Glastonbury Festival, playing some of their most energetic hits, as well as sadder, well-loved tunes like "This is a Low," "The Universal," and "To The End." - Global licensing issues have shut Pandora (the internet radio site) outside the U.S. [Slashdot]

- You can see the Pixies on an European tour in October. The tour, titled "Doolittle" to commemorate the 20th anniversary of their album of the same name, will go through cities like Dublin, Glasgow and Frankfurt. The band intends to play songs from Doolittle and all its related b-sides. [NME]
