Music Notes: John Lennon - the NYC years, Modest Mouse single to drop

- A new John Lennon exhibit will be open to the general public tomorrow at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Annex in Manhattan. The exhibit, "John Lennon: The New York City Years," was curated by Yoko Ono and Jim Henke (from the Rock Hall). [Rolling Stone]

- A New Jersey-based entertainment company, with plans to have a reunited Jackson Family perform together in July 2010, is trying to block Michael Jackson's plans to perform in London this summer. [Reuters via Yahoo! News]

- A new Modest Mouse single featuring two songs, "Satellite Skin" and "Guilty Cocker Spaniels," will be released May 26. The songs will also be on sale via iTunes. [Pitchfork]

- Dead Weather, Jack White's latest band, will go on tour in North America this summer. The tour is meant to support their upcoming debut album Horehound (due July 14). The tour will begin on June 11 in Louisville, KY, and will come to an end October 4 at the Austin City Limits Festival in Texas. [SPIN]

- Fever Ray will tour North America in the fall. [NME]

- More girl power: Blondie and Pat Benatar will co-headline a tour, featuring The Donnas as special guests. [NME]
