RIP Walter Cronkite

Walter Cronkite, the renowned TV anchorman who became known as "the most trusted man in America," died at 7:42 p.m. tonight in New York City at the age of 92. His family was by his side.

Cronkite was famous for being the face of "CBS Evening News" from 1962 to 1981, covering major news stories that included the assassination of John F. Kennedy and the Watergate scandal.

Cronkite died after battling a long illness. No funeral or memorial service information is available at this time.
