RIP Karl Malden

Oscar-winner Karl Malden has died at the age of 97, his family has reported.

A respected film and television actor whose career spanned across six decades, Malden won an Academy Award for his work in the '50s classic A Streetcar Named Desire and served as the Academy of Arts and Sciences president from 1989-92.  He also starred on the small screen with Michael Douglas for five years in the 1970s detective series The Streets of San Francisco.
