New Dancing with the Stars Celebs Announced This Morning

The list of Dancing with the Stars competitors gets odder and odder every season. The official roster of 16 "celebrity" competitors was announced this morning, with some of the best-known names including Kelly Osbourne, Chuck Liddell (of Ultimate Fighting Championship fame), and Michael Irvin (former Dallas Cowboy WR and hall of fame inductee).

Full list as follows:

• Aaron Carter - pop singer, fomer tween heartthrob, younger brother to Backstreet Boys' Nick Carter
• Natalie Coughlin - gold medal-winning Olympic swimmer
• Mark Dacascos - actor and martial artist, chairman of Kitchen Stadium on Iron Chef America
• Tom DeLay - former Republican House Majority Leader who was indicted on campaign finance violations
• Macy Gray - R&B singer
• Ashley Hamilton - actor, son of George Hamilton and Alana Stewart
• Melissa Joan Hart - actress, formerly starred on Sabrina the Teenage Witch
• Kathy Ireland - former model and owner of a successful company
• Michael Irvin
• Joanna Krupa - sexiest swimsuit model in the world according to Maxim magazine
• Chuck Liddell
• Debi Mazar - actress on Entourage
• Mya - R&B singer with a tap dance background
• Kelly Osbourne
• Donny Osmond - former teen heartthrob, singer, sister Marie competed on the show two seasons ago
• Louie Vito - pro snowboarder

I'm a big fan of Iron Chef so I'd be cheering for Mark Dacascos anyway, but sci-fi fans will also recognize him from his memorable guest starring role as the Satedan Tyre in the Stargate: Atlantis episodes "Reunion" and "Broken Ties." With his martial arts background and natural elegance, I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that Dacascos is going to take folks by surprise and make it pretty far in the competition next season.
